Seems way overoaked, don’t think I’ve tasted a white wine with as much oak influence in it, completely stifles the fruit. Quite disappointing considering the premium price for this bottling.

Slightly mature and very much less fruit forward then the previous bottle I had 2 years go. With a bit of air, the nose opened up nicely with lemons, honey, hazelnuts, lanolin and a touch of reductive and grassy/gooseberries notes. Good, round mouthfeel though it did feel slightly green with a long but faintly hollow and bitter finish.

Lovely oaky slightly oxidized character. Aromas of hazelnuts and cox orange apples. Rich and filling, a very food friendly wine that could absorb and accompany strong flavors. Burgundian richness. Have tried this before and it certainly meets expectations. 93-94p

Light sulphur match stick notes, flowery nose. Medium acidity and big body. Cooler than 2015. Stone, slate and very well balanced.

Oaky verdejo. Almost a rich burgundy. Well made long after taste. Excellent. Is the oak needed ?
