Wanted to try one of these as I've not had much from Barge; the nose shows ripe dark fruits with plums, black raspberries, and black cherry alongside lilac and lavender; just a hint of mineral and smoke. The palate has very good concentration and very good energy. Structure is mostly enveloped by all the lush fruit. Juicy and fresh on the finish. Pretty primary and should likely develop some more complexity on the nose with time and the balance is there to age gracefully for a decade or two.

Nose was more interesting than palate on this. With air bouquet of crushed flowers, dank stones, touch of beef and mineral. Palate is a bit more muted and leaning towards crushed plum fruits with hints of green pepper and mint herb. Not bad I suppose for a rotie in this price range

A better showing than my recent bottles of '15 Blonde and Brune. This was surprisingly open and accessible, though obviously still young, dark fruited, and spicy. More hopeful about these as a whole after this bottle, though still intend to wait five years to retry.
