Decanted an hour and drank with a roast boudin. Medium acidity and tannins red fruits with violet, roses and dust medium long finish. Very enjoyable. Still a little expensive for what it is considering some of the Gattinara and Langhe available but very good.

Day 1: Decanted two hours and drank with pork belly. Bright acidity, deep red cherry note and some spice/leather on the nose. Pale ruby color. Sour cherries and forest floor. Reminds me of good Langhe nebbiolo but with a more intense core. The tannins are fine and the acidity is significant but not as intense or drying as a 1er Cru burgandy. Like a lower tannin Blaufränkisch? It is ripe like Barbaresco but tight like burgandy. Enjoyable but the qpr feels out of wack. $50-$65 wine selling for $90. Perhaps age will up my assessment.
Day 2: smoother and better integrated acidity. The fruits really shine and the body is silky. Hon the palet, surprised it's only 13.5% abv. Long finish. This spend five years in barrel and seven in the bottle, it has the structure to go much longer.

Dark and red fruits, leather, florals. Light to medium palate with some interest. Fine tannins linger on the finish.
