Can a Pinot Gris be beefy? Apparently it can. More body and fullness from a Pinot Gris than I had expected and/or experienced in the past. Pears, apples, mushroom notes. This got a bit better on day 2 and I can see this lasting another 5 years or so.
Not an expert on Pinot Gris but giving this the benefit of the doubt. Opened quite tight with green fruit. As it warmed more notes of riper fruit, lychee liquor, wheat musk and a slightly oily texture. Not the best pairing with my Dorset crab salad and Venison but held up pretty well. Nice wine!

Slightly musty nose; hints of kerosene; v complex. Pleasingly dry, typical acidic backbone, lemon, slate. A touch of sweetness.
