Vibrant Cab with spicy oak dominating the palate, balanced with full body of black fruit. Less developed than some other 2015s I've tried recently. Possible improvement with cellar time.

Decanted briefly. This is in an intermediate state like some other 2015s I've tasted recently. It had bursts of deliciousness but started with unpleasant capsicum, then went to a nicely aromatic light-bodied, somewhat muted blackcurrant, then continued to fade in and out. Clearly this is a well-made wine but I don't think it's showing well right now and would continue to hold for a bit.
One hour decant. Nearly opaque magenta color. Boysenberry jelly, black currant, baked date, and subtle cola on the nose. Very smooth, dry, full bodied palate, with nice acidity. Full, plush tannins on the longish finish.
Relatively short decant is the way to go with this guy. I’ve done 3-4 hours and it doesn’t do as well. ‘16 handles a long decant much better.
Three hour decant. Inky, nearly opaque magenta color. Black cherry, marigolds, and dark chocolate on the nose. Smooth, very dry, somewhat bitter palate, with good, lingering acidity. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish. This is good, but the ‘16 is vastly better.

Five hour decant. Nearly opaque magenta color. Chocolate pudding, cherry, cassis, stone, and rose petals on the nose. Smooth, supple, tongue drying palate. Full tannins on the long finish.
There’s a modest herbalness / tartness that is not my favorite. This is very nice, but doesn’t hold a candle to the ‘16.
