  • I bought a case of this wine and I’m not really happy with it. They were quite cheap but I’d still prefer many other wines at this price point. Most of the wines I’ve opened so far have a strong raisin/oxidative flavor, suggesting the grapes were picked overripe. The wine is heavy and high in alcohol but is grainy and not well balanced. As I have now tasted several bottles with this taste profile, I don’t think it is a flawed bottle but rather a poor vintage for this wine

  • Very good bottle, especially for the price. Full flavored, well balanced, dry, with a pleasant finish.

  • Solid full bodied wine, especially for the price.

  • Very intense colour, concentrated(very old vines), full of blackberries, chocolate, wild cherries, tobacco, balsamic and some earthy tone. Good acidity. Medium to full body. VERY long finish. Absolute pleaser specially watching the price tag:)). Paired perfectly with rib-eye and Wagyu striploin.

  • PnP Day 1, nose of dark red/blue fruits and espresso with alcoholic heat, reminds me of black forest cake for some reason. Unusual taste intensity and darkness of plums, black fruits, blackberry liqueur, pepper spice, and a solid wall of drying tannins on the finish - just seems odd for Tempranillo, perhaps it's the La Mancha terroir? Saving rating for Day 2/3, will see if it evolves with air time, may be some nuances lurking below the rough exterior to help this achieve more balance. Will revisit.

Day 2 - aromatic intensity continues, more boysenberry/balsamic glaze sweet-n-sour fruit tonight, nice mocha/dark cocoa notes, less spice but minerality/salinity more present (clay soils?), and tannins pulled back a bit but still pretty chewy on the med+ finish. Good w/BBQ pork loin and after dinner sipping. Atypical, more Zin/PS blend-like than anything, but leaning toward 90+ now for enjoyment.

Day 3 - similar to Day 2 experience, a good kick of licorice and softened a bit further, almost too syrupy and liqueur textured, just not what we think of for Tempranillo. Still tasty nonetheless.
