2/4, good cork, decanted 1/2 hr. Nose shows dark fruit, cigar box, vanilla. Medium bodied, dark fruit, cigar box, vanilla, has reasonable weight and depth, soft tannins, fresh acidity and a good length finish. Not overly complex but tasty and well balanced. Drinking well - but no particular need to hurry

Bright red berry smell, violets, cinnamon, vanilla, lovely smell. Medium bodied and very fresh in the mouth, plenty of acid as well as plenty of structure. Long elegant finish, brambly.
This is really excellent and reminds me of the Alberdi with the red fruit, not as rich but just as enjoyable as the 2008 Ardanza.

A thing of intense beauty. Honestly, the Society's track record with its Exhibition range is truly unequalled. A variety of factors make this particular bottle one of the Society's most impressive accomplishments: one of the top bodegas in the region (in fact one of the most venerable wineries on the planet), an impeccable vintage, a silly price - members of the Wine Society are very lucky to have this. After a bit of decanting, this Reserva opens up beautifully - gorgeously giving notes of juicy brambly berries, sweet spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg, roses, perfect balance and structure, silky tannins, vanilla, a very light touch of leather, pipe tobacco and woodsmoke, and a deliciously lip-smacking finish that's sweet and savoury at the same time. Top tipple.

last one of these & still plenty of life ahead. Opened up after a couple of hours, nice traditional rioja that sits just below the arana
