Maysara Pinot noir can take a long time to reach its peak, even Jamsheed, which tends to see less oak than the higher end wines. This is drinking very well now; the aroma has the tell-tale tea-like notes often present from this vineyard, with a full, deep midpalate, a long savory finish and fully resolved tannins. The McMinnville AVA has a unique terroir, and it’s fully and successfully realized in this delicious wine.

Not a classic Pinot in style. Still deep ruby colored with no indication of age. Nose is earthy and dark fruits with a light smokiness. Dark fruit dominated the front with tannins emerging at the end. Short and unmemorable finish. Not what I expected, but not terrible. Tough year.

Ruby hue with medium-high saturation. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, cherry compote, cocoa, leather, molasses, mushroom, oak, and tar. Medium-full body; silky, medium tannins; and medium-high acidity. Complex, intense nose; soft, juicy mouthfeel; warm, lengthy finish. Evolves in the glass with savory and herbaceous notes. Biodynamic. Barreled for 11 months in French oak (10% new).

Felt slightly tired so not sure how much gas is left in the tank, Wild Boar and Motz on point for TNs, had a nice sip of cherry and herbs, totally fine and pleasant to drink, just not a stand out performance for this one.

Drookend 2020. Luminous outshined for same price. Rather basic.
