This Bacchus has a very pale white / green colour. The fragrance impresses with strong scents of fresh grass, green apple and a bit of lemon. The taste shows quite strong aromas of gooseberry, grass and lemon. Although the aromas show impressive strenght, this wine still appears to me rather light. If I did not know that it is a Bacchus, I would assume this one for a Sauvignon Blanc. The only thing I don't like is the strong acid. With a little bit less, it would be a astounding fresh summer wine, but it is still a really nice suprise to me.

Worked well with sea bass. Quite pleasant, but probably not worth the £10 price tag. Generally light on the nose, balanced taste and finish.

VWTC - Chapel Down - with Antony Ilani (Verulam Wine Tasting Club - St Albans www.vwtc.org): Herbaceous/hedgrow bouquet, very pale colour, with soft stewed gooseberry flavours. Soft and dry, excellent.
