Quite powerful bouquet of quince, pear and apple skin. The palate is full bodied and the acidity keeps the alcohol in check. Not as brilliant as some Emidio Pepe, but still very good.

Had this shortly after tasting the same grape from Valentini and Emidio Pepe, both of which were very good wines, if a desired taste. This was quite different. Overriding aroma and taste of herbs, think thyme. Quite odd. I’m sure nothing wrong though the alcohol was quite high. Not quite my taste which is a shame as I am generally a big fan of Masciarelli.

Flintiness to the nose. Lots of snap. A little creaminess to the palate. Seriously good Trebbiano. 12 m in 100% new French, then 12 m in bottle before release.

A substantial level of new oak to the nose. Has a saw dusty appeal, albeit a nice presence. High strung candied citrus and white flower aromas. Tree fruit. Does a good job of absorbing the oak influence.
