with 5% Malbec. Medium nose shows black cherry, light spice, woodsy note, plum. Palate is fruit forward, black plum, red plum, red cherry, fresh spice, some medium structure, tannins, alcohol. Fine for entry level, don't love it.

Picked up this wine to "cook" with and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Paired perfectly with braised short ribs. Used half the bottle in the cooking process, so the flavor of the beef and sauce was enhanced 10x by the remaining wine in the glass. For $14.99, it is now in our rotation as an "any Tuesday night" wine.

P: Med body; RNDISH entry with ALMOST swtish frt (approaching threshold R.S.?) met by a puckerish astringency which only somewhat resolves by the LONG, somewhat puckerish finish yet with a swtness to the tannins. NEEDS into EARLY '20, I'd guess, but LOTS of substance for this vendor's $8.99, a price which is @ the HEAD of wine-searcher's current "class". 13.% ABV; My VG, definitely higher IF one is considering the QPR of a wine that NEEDS cellaring.

Bouquet of berries, chocolate, slight tobacco. Past it’s prime, but still good for everyday.
