Beautiful and classic nose of Puligny Montrachet with honeydew melon, crisp green apple, and charred butter. A bit overly citrusy in the beginning followed by mellowing butter and lively green apple. Well integrated except for the initial burst of citrus.

Vintage Burgundy Dinner by SommFoundation during World of Pinot at the Bacara. Laser like minerality though a honeysuckle lemon nose. Palate on cruise control lemon meringue, yellow raspberry, honeydew rind.

The Crus of Puligny-Montrachet (Berry Bros & Rudd): Big, gamey nose, with (attractive) whiffs of rancio and polish. Crisp and powerful on the palate, so savoury and chewy, but also complex and floral. Long, mesmerising, butter and honeycomb finish. Hefty proportion, but all in balance - great showing tonight, and classic Puligny 1er cru.
