Violet, flint, red plum, earthy, leather. Chalky tannins on the palate. The wine is still alive but the acidity isn’t there to keep nor the intensity to improve.

Bold and young Burgundy with a very Gevrey profile of dark cherries, with charred quality, edgy tannins and saline mouthfeel. Plenty of character and surprisingly not what I was looking for, however a very interesting wine.

P: LM body; Rndish entry with NICE, almost swtish frt met by a puckerish astringency which fairly seamlessly transitions into a LONG (though poss very, VERY slightly faint) finish with a tangy/swt bent to its very, VERY fine tannins. NEEDS into '20 (poss longer), & IF the frt holds*, a steal @ this vendor's $39.95, which is at LEAST $2 < than its closest wine-searcher competitor. My VG-/VG, but with DEFINITE potential IF... *[It seems to lack the intensity of the previous wines in this flight.] 15 (cask), 15.5, & 16/20 (cask) from Jancis Robinson -- 3 different reviewers.

Solid village wine. Lots of bright red fruit with the richness and density of the vintage, a touch of earthiness beneath, and moderate acids and light tannin beneath. It's not a particular complex wine, but as a village wine for easy/early drinking, this definitely works and it's a decent value.

Plummy/dark berries, significant, surprising volume to the fruit, lots of acid. Some fine drying tannin. One-note, lacking complexity, not especially interesting. Better with food/cheesse. Acceptable for the modest-by-Burgundy-standards price ($35-$40) but no better than that.
