Classic and the same time modern Sangiovese nose of black and red cherries, plums, nougat and cedar. Spicy and powerful on the palate with a good acidity, straightforward and elegant structure, but somewhat wild tannins. Again a lot of black cherries and plums, with subtle toasted notes and liquorice. Good length with juicy cherry fruit and somewhat drying tannins.
Not the best vintage of this wine, but still dependable and good as a meal supporter.

Definitely a fruit-driven Chianti, as opposed to one with more herbaceous notes. Texture-wise there's mouth puckering acidity on the finish but with an interesting subtle creaminess on the mid-palate. The wine has a nice clarity to it, but isn't something with a lot of secondary notes to keep you discovering more.

An early drinking approachable style, with a fair amount of capacity of grape and place; I won't be going out of my way to find more for the cellar.
