Popped and poured, which was a mistake because the wine needs air to open up. Medium dark red. Heavy tannins. Good fruit. The wine is helped by food, in this case, some semi-hard cheeses.

Friday Night Brown Bagger (Eagle Brook Country Club): Double blind. Immediately appealing, this opens with a tar/asphalt note followed by black fruit and sandalwood. Abundant dark fruit on the palate supporting firm, chewy tannin. Excellent. (J&J)

A STEAL on WTSO. Serious dark color, and dense, tarry nose. Rough and tumble mouthfeel and flavor profile. No elegance here, but a hell of a lot of grainy, tarry blackberry. What a great weeknight wine. $10 as part of a $120 case special. I feel like I stole something at the Woolworths.

Best to drink the whole bottle after opened. I do not like the flavor it develops after 2 to 3 days. Should have tried to use it in a Sangria. Migh need to lay down for a couple of years.

With some vanilla and creamy notes to the nose. Actually this has a rather seductive nose to it. And enough fruity weight to the palate.
