(PREUSES Chablisienne) Plethora Dear Friends, While not technically a plethora, I did enjoy the sound of the word so that is the title of our Friday send-off list. All below have perfect provenance and are at the lowest prices I can muster - some of the prices are pretty eye-popping. Have a good weekend everyone! - Jon Rimmerman ************************ Friday Focus Wine: 2005 Can Blau "Mas de Can Blau" (Spain) STRICT LIMIT 6/person Last year's 2004 Mas de Can Blau was a major hit (with Josh Raynolds as well) and the 2005 is even better. This is an extracted, large-scaled wine that is actually good. While I don't typically support wine like this, I think many of you will really enjoy it: ************************** 2006 Domaine de Chenevieres Chablis "Les Grandes Vignes" (Vielles Vignes) EXTREMELY LIMITED 2005 La Chablisienne Chablis "Le Preuses" (BH93) STRICT LIMIT 2/person This is in bottles - please be patient here. 1999 Friggiali Brunello Riserva 3.0lt (GR3) 350.00/1 (very rare bottle of hand-bottled Riserva from the best lot they had in the vintage) 2000 Fontodi Syrah Case Via 1.5lt STRICT LIMIT 2/person 2005 Ramey Cabernet Sauvignon "Pedregal Vineyard" 1.5lt (these are in perfect condition and have never sat on a store shelf - ever) 2006 Pierre Usseglio CdP "Deux Freres" Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Spain6320 Burg8860 Burg8870 Italy6831 Italy6832 CA8380 Rhone7410

(PREUSES Chablisienne) 2005 Grand Cru Dear Friends, It seems Chablis is not dead, at least from the response to last week’s La Chablisienne offer - here are two more, the crown jewels in their portfolio. I first became intrigued with La Chablisienne’s 2005 Preuses and Le Clos at a comparative vineyard tasting in Burgundy last summer and they continue to gain in strength. I was invited to a private event where all of the known wines from each vineyard were poured (along with Montmains and Vaillons) and both of these were in my top two. You can use your imagination but that means Raveneau, Dauvissat, Fevre (and others) were ranked below them. The differences in each vineyard were fairly staggering as each winery holds a certain segment of fruit that can be far different than the other (much like Batard or Chevalier where it matters greatly where in the topography the fruit is from). As an example, La Chablisienne's Preuses holding is considered the best parcel in the vineyard, especially in a new global-warming Burgundy. It is far cooler than the vines in the middle or bottom and in a vintage like 2005, you get the best of both worlds - cool tone but ripe, perfect fruit. It is an outstanding wine. The Les Clos goes without saying. If you are buying high-end white Burgundy, Chablis remains the top spot for well-priced Grand Cru fruit and both of these are very hard to find (unlike Fevre or something mass distributed). If a $50-70 wine can be a bargain, both of these qualify with room to spare. Both are VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ONE SHIPMENT ONLY at this price directly from the source with perfect provenance: 2005 La Chablisienne Chablis “Les Preuses” EXTREMELY LIMITED 2005 La Chablisienne Chablis “Les Clos” EXTREMELY LIMITED Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Burg7088 Burg7077
