  • Deep ruby in colour. Not as pungent spice as I expected. Medium fruit flavour intensity on the palate. It’s been a while since I opened the last bottle. The alcohol feels a little standing-out. This bottle isn’t as good as the last, maybe bottle variation?
On day 2, there’s some wild mushroom and subtle truffle notes that are more interesting than day 1, but the length remains medium.

  • Appearance: deep ruby
Nose: medium intensity; aromas of red currant, dark chocolate, black pepper, black olive, very toast, violet, nutmeg, tree bark, a little tobacco. It’s developing.
Palate: dry, medium plus acidity, medium plus tannins, high alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus flavour intensity, chocolate comes through. medium plus finish.
Overall, it’s a very good wine. Can drink now and has potential for further ageing.
Elegant style Shiraz. Quite impressive on the nose and keep evolving. The finish drops a little quick in the end. Still quite young and it needs some time to soften the tannins.

  • Appearance: clear medium ruby
Nose: clean, medium plus intensity, aromas of white pepper, black pepper, black olive, earthiness, dark plum, red currant, blackberry, nutmeg, smoky, medicinal, truffle, toast, red roses. It’s developing.
Palate: dry, high acidity, medium plus tannins (chalky), high alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus flavour intensity, flavours of chocolate come through, medium finish.
Overall, it’s a very good wine. Like the distinctive peppery notes from cool climate Shiraz, but the finish is shorter than I expected. Can drink now but has potential for ageing to unleash the potential. Will put the rest 5 bottles up for 3-5 years.

  • Dark purple-red, almost opaque. Long slow legs. Very nice fresh berries nose. Smooth and slightly drying on the palate although not much fruit, some licorice notes. Medium long and peppery finish was the highlight. Perhaps this wine is in a partial shutdown phase right now. Will give it another try in 3-4 years

  • Purple and opaque. Inky and full bodied. The nose is dark fruit and white pepper. Consistent nose with a full mouth feel and the tannins are softer than expected. Cherry pie finish. 5+12+16+8=91
