Oh boy now we're talking. Deep dark blue and tinges of ruby. Gorgeous thick ripe blackberry fruit. Still a slight unresolved tension between sweetness and acidity - a little more time will balance it out. Lovely. I expect even better from the 2015 vintage which I am pleased to say I bought a case of!

Long lunch - recipes from Ben Tish's 'Moorish' book. These 2 went with kebabs and soft cheeses.
934 : A classy, well-structured and approachable Rioja from a great name. Lovely, fruit-forward palate which is smooth, long and satisfying. Equally good on its own or with food - an accomplished blend which is drinking well now.
935 : An interesting contrast to the 2014 in that it shows its (relative) youth, being a little drier on the palate and overtly more tannic. However, as an accompaniment to the (soft) cheese course, it suddenly woke up and came into its own - excellent.
Both drinking well now. Suggest open a few hours prior to serving and let them get up to room temperature.

This is fantastic. Loaded with dark cherry and other fruit. This is still young, but the vanilla, chocolate and smokey oak are showing. This will age well and I'm excited for my other bottles.

Deep garnet red, no sediment. After four hours open, incredible oak and blackcurrant nose. Full, fruit and acid lead, tannin not obtrusive. Lingers for minutes. Delicious. Classic Rioja.

We opened a 2014 934 and 2015 935 together.
