  • Downtown Patio Evening (Shari's, Mpls, MN): Medium plus red color. Decanted for 90 minutes; drank a glass over an hour. This was very good, a bit straightforward, but well balanced and youthful. Lots of tart red cherry here, medium bodied, spices, dusty tannins. Definitely improved even further in the glass. 89pts with some slight up side.

  • Sight: Clear, Medium concentration, ruby color, only slight rim variation, no visible extract, Medium+ tearing.

Nose: Clean, moderate intensity, fresh & tart red cherry & raspberry, red and pink rose, some animal notes, wet earth, fairly light to moderate use of new oak.

Palate: Dry, both tart & some more ripe red cherry & raspberry. Some tart, slightly bitter cranberry, mulberry and citrus zest. Dash of fresh blackberry. Some spice and bitter herbs late in palate. Animal musk & barn notes. Limestone & minerals.
Medium+ velvety tannins. Beautiful, bright high acidity. Medium+ alcohol (14%). Medium+ body. Velvet smooth, soft, supple mouthfeel & round texture. Expertly balanced w/ long finish of fresh blackberry & spice. High complexity, multiple layers of flavor.

This is a gorgeous wine with prominent fruit that comes across as pure and only delicately influenced.
