Med-dark ruby. Classic burgundian nose of fresh black griotte cherry and earth. Definite touch of licorice and sweet damp earth here. And a wet stone note (granite soils). And smoky oak. Brilliant nose. Very French smelling.
Med-full body, excellent concentration (old vines, good vintage). Intense, long, fresh finish. Bright acidity. Soft tannins. Good balance except for slightly tart/phenolic finish.
Excellent beauty, complexity, and concentration at the price. I've had 1er Cru Chambolle-Musigny at $75-125 that was not better than this.
Excellent, old vines, 1er Cru, unfiltered red Burgundy from a small traditional producer in a good/great vintage at $40!?! I thought authentic value in Burgundy like this didn't exist anymore! What a find.
Drink now. And until 2028 in cool cellar.

The Grand Tour - day eleven (Bordeaux): Polished oak, slightly chalky notes and spiced. Clean, dark hued fruit. Soft, juicy but with fruit that is slightly ripe, in a rather contradictory way. Medium plus length. Rather pleasant.
