Wow! PnP with a good, generous!, friend to catch up after too long.
“Instant classic” from first pour and was really singing 30-45 mins after opened.
Deep, dark cassis in color and primary nose of black cherries and chocolate. Secondary complexity is there from first whiff including espresso and a hint of oak. But interestingly, almost no oak on the pallet. This wine is round and full bodied in the mouth with complexity but very little tannin and is almost a supple velvet coating that lingers but doesn’t have any bite.
Great. My first HA and it lived up to the hype.

WOTN among a lineup of 2006 Cult CA Cabernet. The wine had instant wow factor of fresh fruit with tobacco, black fruit, and cedar. Was decanted 30 mins and continued to get better over the next two hours.

Decanted for almost 3 hours, then drank over 1 hour in 3rd flight of 9 CA Cab wines. Big, smooth & delicious, just lacked distinctive depth and wow factor when compared in the same dinner to 2001 Abreu Madrona Ranch, 2005 Scarecrow, 2005 Colgin Cariad and 2007 Bryant Family. On its own still a great wine. Drink now-2023 or earlier is correct window.

Just fantastic, had only one glass, but deep, lush and powerful Cabernet. Black cherry, currant, tobacco and leather. The power and grace of this wine buckles the knees. Finish goes on and on.
