Some warmth on the nose. Full of the darker fruit flavors of the northern Cote de Nuits. Good work has been done here to dial back the rusticity that so characterized Fixin in the past. But the terroir precludes it being truly elegant. Showing some of the sweetness of the vintage. Yet there is freshness also from sufficient compensating acid. Medium length. Well managed tannins, which has not always been the case with Fixins of old. Very complete for a Fixin at this level. Bought on release, inspired by a late 2016 visit to the Domaine. And I have bought Amelie's wines ever since. Just about ready - but I would wait a few years yet. A point along the journey towards better wines both from this Domaine and Fixin more broadly, which merits congratulation from everyone looking for quality Burgundy at a reasonable price.

Feels like a rustic raw material showing a rich soil and powerful fruit. Deuxieme cuvee did I hear? The power has been tamed by its maker and expresses a density while at the same time being very attractive and smoothly textured and drinkable loads of dark flowers and dark fruits

My first Berthaut-Gerbet and my first Fixin. Much discussion and much hype before it. This is really good stuff. The mechanics are that you should give this some air, but when it's ready (say 3 hours), it's complex, lengthy and really delicious - medium-bodied and really engaging. But before that, the fruits weren't integrated, the finish was acidic and there was a weird chemical taste. However by the end of the evening I totally understood why this domaine is getting so much love.

I enjoyed this one, red fruit with some nice acidity.

Good but not special. It got better with air and had more body than a typical Fixin.
