  • 2nd bottle. This is much more like what I expected. Nice dark Granache nose. Dark fruits surrounded by a core of lively acidity. Some graphite charcoal and burnt ash. Great balance. First bottle must have been bad. I like this very much. Young and can go several years while improving. 91-92

  • Inpenatrably black. Huge nose deep dark fruit. Not much else. In the mouth these are bitter dark fruit
Very primary. Not an easy drink. Think I’ll leave it until tomorrow and open something else. No rating. Came back to it next day. No real improvement at all. Very disappointing. Still inpenatrable and very unpleasant to drink. Poured it down the drain. To bad I have more bottles.

"The 2015 Minervois la Liviniere comes from vines near the heart of the appellation and is a blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. It’s a textbook, perfumed, full-bodied and incredibly sexy 2015 that offers notes of blueberries, flowers, lavender and jammy blackberries. It could be a true superstar and is loaded with potential. (Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate 230)."

I also found it terrific but too young to drink. Lots of chalk/stone/minerals upfront with secondary notes of blue- and blackberries.
