Dundee Hills, Oregon. 2014 Domaine Serene Pinot Noir Mark Bradford, $94. In vertical of 2011-2014 and 2004 Domaine Serene wines. Second place. Light-mid ruby, viscous (14.0 alc.); red fruit, cherries, rose petal, slight mineral, wood; low acids; low-mid tannins; mid depth on fruit; balanced; good Pinot Noir flavor; semi-long tasty finish. 16.5-17 UC Davis scale, 91-92 other scales.

I suspect that age may bring out more of this. As it is, it’s a quite enjoyable Pinot with nice red berry fruitiness and a touch of tartness to balance its mild sweetness. But there’s not a lot of depth to be had at the moment. Enjoy now as a simple Oregon Pinot expression—a perfectly reasonable choice!—or hold to see what else it might become.

Burgundy color with a bouquet and flavor of raspberry and typical Pinot Noir spiciness. Good balance with moderate depth and a moderate finish. Pleasant wine if not memorable.

May have opened this at the wrong time. Excellent flavors of red and black fruit but very muted and soft on the palate. Not complex at first, and I was expecting more. Decanted 1/2 the bottle and had the rest the next night, and it did evolve favorably and hinted at more depth. I think it is one to age. Tasted with a Jerusalem Hill 2014, which outshone the MB at this stage.
