Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Opened with relatively low expectations, this bottle of Pommard was a lovely surprise, bursting with notes of sweet red cherry, wild berries, subtle spice and dried herbs. On the palate the wine was vibrant and acid-driven, but with enough fruit to cover its structural bones and an unexpectedly ample chassis of fine tannin. If this is indicative of the other Mérode ‘81s then they are worth pursuing.
