We generally always like to drink California white wines at a young age as we find the mellower taste of the aged whites is not usually a good thing. We had several bottles of the 2015 Moone Tsai Charles Heintz, and decided to age one. Upon opening this bottle and being disappointed, I poured some of the bottle into our VSpin (the spinning device in a decanter that aerates wines for 5 minutes). We have never before done that with a white wine, but it made a huge difference. To be honest, for our tastes, we still liked it better 5 years ago, but, after the 5 minute spin, it was certainly serve-able to our guests.

Thick, full bodied, ready to go. As a popping corner coming this one gives you everything. Massive amounts of yellow fruit right in your face. Good acidity and salinity from start to finish. Very rounded edges. Wouldn't have gone well with a variety of foods, but this one was consumed alone and honestly I think I enjoyed it that way. If you have a bunch of these, I would start drinking on them now. I do not believe that any additional bottle age will make this any better, but I bet it will still continue to change more towards a nutty and oxidized yellow character.

Gorgeous. Big, rich hedonistic. Butter and oak. Popcorn, shortbread biscuits. Savoury cheese biscuit. Long, some complexity. Drink now.

Excellent.
Always a treat when we open a bottle.
But the newer vintages are getting so pricey.

Big. Commands attention and dominates you palate. Classic Sonoma, pineapple with enough acidity.
