Color: medium-dark garnet Nose: very intense ripe strawberry and violets. Ripe cherry. Baking spice, though not overly intrusive. Putpourri and tomato concentrate Palate: medium-high acidity, medium-high tannin yet untamed. Body medium-full and good aromatics intensity. Stones and burnt tires appear, confirming the nose otherwise Finish: medium-long
Wow so this slants modern but at this stage it is a 100% overpeforming nebbiolo from a great vintage with balance, depth, intensity. I think 3-5 years for this to peak. For now 2 hours of air recommended.

Wow this wine is stunning. So aromatic with swirls of dried flowers on the nose. The palate was integrated, round, clean, with soft tannins and acid to tie it down. Really elegant and fine, feminine and balanced. A really lovely drink all round and the epitome of Barbaresco. It’s one of those wines that’s just a joy to drink and so hard to describe when all the flavours are so well integrated. It was popped and poured and held up well through a 2 hour lunch. Bought this bottle at the winery 4 years ago and lugged it home - impeccable provenance.

Here I found a beautiful mix of sweetly-spiced ripe cherries and coco, followed by dusty dried roses, hints of cedar, and crushed-stone minerality. On the palate, I found creamy textures, with juicy acids ushering in ripe red fruits and confectionary spice, a hint of balsamic, sweet herbal tones and slow-mounting tannins--yet so enjoyable already. The finish was long, remarkably fresh and lifted, displaying a sweet herbal tea note, hints of menthol, dried cherries and light tannins.
I am impressed, as the 2013 Vie Erte continues to improve in the bottle. It may not be a twenty-year wine, but it's impossible to ignore right now, and each time I taste it, it seems to get better.
Very beautiful. I'm pretty unfamiliar with Nebbiolo, so I can't compare it to much - very pure ripe cherry, almost maraschino, along with a minty note, on the nose. A sommelier friend tasting with me said he got a rubbery note; not sure if I detected it. Surprisingly strong reddish fruit on palate with a little decanting, but still VERY tannic and piercing. Really good especially for the bargain bin at LA wine house ($25!!) Going to try more Nebbiolo now...didn't blow my mind, but totally delicious and unique.

Agree with Eric Guido’s last few notes. Wonderfully perfumed.
