  Restaurant purchase, followed from Somm stems. Based on the ethereal nose we elected not to decant, and that was definitely the right call. Bordeaux nose turned up to 11; more heft and chewiness than a normal bdx, comes across like a cigar lounge.
  
  Paired perfectly w our dry-aged filets w balsamic reduction. Aged cherry syrup, aged barrique, modest tannins. A very un-California-like claret that shows age, sophistication and restraint. If I had some in my cellar (which I don't, but I've been given permission) I'd pin to drink within 4 years. Bravo Bob!
  
  We drank 2/3 of the bottle during dinner, and brought the balance home. 2 1/2 hours after pulling the cork this has softened even further., Maybe dropping to a 94. A solid and VERY respectable wine on a NA or European platform, but I wouldn't decant this for maximum enjoyment.
