NSMFOW January (The Grapevine, Salem, MA): Too cold on initial tasting. Light yellow color. Nose of minerals and slate. Palate of same with white fruits (crisp apple), citrus, grass. There was a question as to whether this was slightly oxidized.

Good stuff. Definitely a California-style Sauvignon Blanc; more backbone and development than mere brightness. Still, good grapefruit/citrus notes. Worth a repeat (and forever associated in my mind with a baseball landing in my plate of pesto).

Good stuff, with a nicely astringent backbone, but lacking the citrus notes that can make this varietal really shine.
