Basically berry juice cocktail (cherry, some cranberry, plum); there’s acidity to keep it technically drinkable but it’s not interesting and it’s too sweet. Light body/thin, with no substance to round out the acid and fruit. Serviceable with tomato sauce pasta, harder to drink on its own. Easy to find better choices even at $12. 4/10

@starbelly Medium ruby. Ripe earthy black cherry nose. Medium plus body, medium plus alcohol, medium minus tannins, medium plus acid. Very solid. It’s an Italian red wine.

P: LM body; NICE, ALMOST swtish frt met by some puckerish astringency which loses its punch as it morphs into a LONG, balanced finish with a tangy/swtness (40:60) to the very, VERY fine tannins. For now with food, but deserves another 6-12 mos, then drinking for 2-3 yrs more. 12.5% ABV: My VG+, though more for the QPR of this vendor's $6.99, which is AS good as any on wine-searcher. [Jameson Fink called it a "Hall of Fame $10 Red" in his 3/25/18 blog!]

Nose: Spice box, tar, and dried tobacco, very lightly projected.
Mouth: Sour cherry and plum core with earth and dried herbs, light tannins on the finish. Tannic structure has a very light grip and feels almost serves more like acid rather than tannins. Innocuous, with simple identity and a little too light on the finish. 100% Montepulciano.
