A refreshing Albarino from O Rosal, our favourite sub region within Rias Baixas. The nose opens with melon, lime juice and hints of almonds. On the palate there is medium+ body balanced with medium + acidity. A minerally streak adds dimension to the core of green apple and honeydew flavours. The finish is long and racy. Balanced, complex and very refreshing. Excellent value. www.advinetures.ca

Spanish Holiday Wines 2017; 7/1/2017-7/16/2017 (La Manga Club): Attractively fresh pear and melon fruit on the nose, with a bit of grapefruit too. This Albariño blend, lent complexity through the addition of Loureiro and Treixadura, is nicely balanced, relatively soft, clean and refreshing. 12.5%. GV at Eur 11.95.

Clear light yellow. Medium intense melon fruit nose, white flowers and sorrel. Delicious melon and apple flavours and a very easy going finish.
Hard to stop drinking this one.

A private lunch (Restaurant The Beehive, White Waltham, UK): Juicy and supple, ripe fruit, soft and friendly, lovely minerality, flowers, good length. A crowd-pleaser but very pleasant indeed.
