Flower Day - Pop and pour straight from the fridge. Pale lemon in the glass. When cold from the fridge the nose is white flowers, light citrus, mineral and light herbs. On the palate there’s a richness with terrific acidity balancing it and flavours of Meyer lemon, chalk, mineral, white flowers and spice. The medium length finish shows apple and pear with minerality.
When given a chance to warm a bit the nose changes to white flowers, pineapple, mineral, lemon zest and spice. On the palate it shows spice (white pepper), apple, pineapple, mineral and lemon zest. Both the finish and the weight seems to be a bit less obvious in power when warmed but the finish is much longer and more complex.
A delicious and interesting wine and well worth the money. Definitely two versions of this wine depending on the temperature. I can’t decide which I prefer - perhaps cooler for straight sipping and warmer with food - white fish with some texture like halibut or light poultry dishes.
