  My last bottle and this one had the best fill, and was the best of the lot. Needed 20 minutes to open and then was just singing. Ripe fruit but great earth, leather on both the nose and the palate. Really nice wine and I wish I had more that was as well preserved as this bottle. Drink now. A-

  Decanted 30 minutes from a great cellar, this showed some dates, prunes, raisins on the nose - not a huge surprise given the vintage. On the palate this turns from Amarone to something more Burgundian with the earth and elegant finish. For what this must have cost at the time this is a wonderful bottle and makes me very excited about owning the 2002 and 2005 as they should be as least as good and long-lived. B+
