  • This bottle was more reminiscent of our first bottle (6/11/21) with a clear medium yellow color. The last of three bottles picked up at auction. The nose showed green apple and citrus. These carry over to the medium plus bodied palate, with the addition of yellow apple and minerality. The acidity is palate cleansing with the minerality lingering on the longish finish. There appears to be some bottle variation, but this wine should hold for at least another few years.

  • Not as enjoyable as our previous bottle a little over a year ago. This bottle seemed a bit more aged and not quite as vibrant, even though it has been kept in a 55-degree wine fridge since acquisition.
The color was a shade or two darker and the influence of resting on the lees for 18 months was more noticeable. Otherwise, the lemon citrus, green apple and minerality are all present on the medium plus bodied palate with mouth cleansing acidity.
An excellent pairing for a 2-pound steamed lobster with plenty of drawn butter. Not certain how long this wine will continue to hold given these developments, so enjoy sooner than later.

  • We started drinking this as a PnP, but after 15 - 20 minutes we noticed that it had opened and taken on some weight. The first of three bottles picked up at auction and a very pleasant surprise. Thanks to NostraBacchus' TN of 12/22/18.
The color was a clear medium yellow with a nose full of green apple, citrus, and minerality. All of these follow on to the medium plus bodied palate, where the lemon citrus comes forward, and an element of yellow apple is added. The acidity is a palate cleansing medium plus, with the minerality lingering on the longish finish. The wine should hold for at least another few years.

  • My second and last bottle, unfortunately. This is showing beautifully again, open and radiant, with surprising freshness for 2015 and a vein of minerality that supports the yellow ripe fruit. Very good lenght. This is so delicious but a small step down from the 2014 I have had recently. Lovely.

  • Medium greenish-yellow color. Jumps right out of the glass, with notes of chalk, citrus, popcorn, smoke, also some ripe yellow fruit and some exotic fruit. It‘s medium-full bodied but has excellent freshness, especially for the vintage, with medium-high acidity that adds a lot of tension. Pretty long finish that ends with persisting minerality. A more mineral-driven, tense Chassagne-Montrachet, probably due to the excellent Domaine but also the climats bordering Puligny-Montrachet (Les Encégnières is right below Batard-Montrachet). I don‘t think this will age forever but a really nice Burgundy that doesn’t break the bank to drink now and over the next 3-4 years.
