  • 1 hour in a decanter was necessary for this wine to open. Nose of coconut cream pie, butterscotch, caramel, sweet lemon, apple and pear. On the palate this wine is well-balanced with medium+ body, alcohol and acidity. Likely because of age this wine feels thin on the palate, missing some of the lushness one expects of oaked Chardonnay. I would not hold this wine much longer. Flavours of lemon peel, pineapple, lime and subtle butter cream. Finish turns sweet with a note of lemon meringue pie.
