Small deposit. Deep red. Musty on opening, breathed off. No corkiness. Ripe blackberry aromas complimented by French oak characters. Rich, sweet blackberry flavours. A chunk of French oak. This is a big wine in the Heathcote style, showing the deft handling of Ben Riggs as winemaker. Not an elegant wine due to its scale, though it is balanced. Surprisingly balanced, given its 15.5 alcohol. Beginning to drink and has many years ahead of it.

This was really enjoyable. Great fruit, but warmer than I expected from a Heathcote shiraz. Lots of spices, bite and length. Blackberry/blueberry and good length. Hitting its strides but will go for a few more years nicely. Tops with a steak.
