  • Colour palest lemon fading to water , very slight tinge of green 15/15
Nose wonderfully balanced nose , lemon and lime aromatics followed by green apple, hints of orange rind and talcy mineral notes on one side and beautiful florals - white blossoms on the other , both work in harmony ,neither one dominates 29/30
Palate this follows on from the nose , once again beautifully balanced , full fruit intensity and mouthfeel , flavours of lemon, lime and green apple chewy acidity that gives the dry finish a fresh crunchy feel. Hard to fault 43/44
Overall Super Riesling , well deserving of it awards 10/11

I tasted this alongside the Rieslingfreak No3 2017 and the Dukes was a clear winner (at this stage , maybe time will bring them closer together)

  • Riesling Riot 2018: Lime, slate, apple and white florals. Pure and refreshing on the palate with good acidity and some spice that travels well into a good length finish. Vivacious and lively wine with plenty to enjoy about it already.

  • Brian + Sylvia, Pre-Wedding Lunch (Pullman, Bunker Bay): Another simple but eminently drinkable wine. The nose was really pretty and expressive for an Antipodean Riesling, with lifted wafts of white flowers and beeswax, sweet limes and cream soda. The palate was a lovely fresh mouthful, with energetic acidity tracing a fine spine through clear, juicy notes of citrus lime. It was nicely mineral at the finish as well. Altogether a really solid little wine.

  • Halliday rated this a 99 points recently. There’s a big bouquet of green apple and citrus on the nose. Refreshing but balanced, crisp acidity. Long finish of lime and lemon curd. This is piercingly precise at the moment, and lovely drinking on a balmy Spring evening. Is it a 99 pointer? Not sure. But am going to stash away several bottles to try in the years to come.

  • The colour of the wine is the clearest I've ever seen: it looks like water. Nose of concrete, lime peel, jasmine, and orange blossom. Palate is hard and steely, incredibly closed and tight, yet some flavours of lime juice and orange blossom are still leaking out. Structure seems built to last.
