Coravined into a baby decanter for splash decant (in tasting room). Deep dark magenta color. Red currant, florals, and plum. Smooth, dry palate, with velvety acidity. Very firm tannins on the long finish.
This is not as dark fruited as I like. There are also some green, steamy notes. It’s good, but on the delicate side of the spectrum.

This is a delicious, very satisfying wine, for its style. It was great with grilled beef tenderloin, a perfect match. It is a big, lush, open wine, a bit heady at 15.5% ABV, very much in keeping with California Cab style. It is redolent of ripe blackberries and blueberries, bramble, and dark spices. It is not my favorite style, but more importantly it is difficult to justify the price of this wine, as it is with almost all the expensive wines from California. It’s genuinely fun to drink a wine like this from time to time, but the QPR is very poor indeed.
