Deep ruby colour. Pronounced and developing nose with red plum, blackcurrant, blackberry, eucalyptus, black pepper, cloves and cedar. Pronounced taste of red plum, blackberry, black cherry, eucalyptus, black pepper, cloves and cedar. Long and dry finish. Medium acidity. Medium tannins. Medium body. A very good Margaux that has matured well. Drink now or over the next ten years. Goes well with beef or lamb.

By the glass. Clearly more Paulliac on the nose with notes of smoked spices, concentrated cranberries. Instead palate is more floral and friendly. A refined and velvety wine with length and balance. Heads and tails.

Deep ruby red colour. Medium and slightly reductive nose with dark plum, blackcurrant and black pepper. Medium taste of dark plum, blackcurrant, black pepper and tobacco. Medium long and dry finish. High acidity. Medium (+) tannins. Medium body. A good Margaux that feels more on the fruity side and needs a couple of years more to shine. Goes well with beef or lamb.

Decanter Fine Wine Encounter (The Landmark, London): Yeast extract, gamey, meaty, very slightly dusty spice, plums. Juicy, fleshy, wetly enjoyable, slightly coarse tannins plummy on the palate. Hmm.
