Interesting, a style I am totally not used to. I agree with another reviewer about the oranges, however, I would say way overripe orange (but not rotten) flavor. Not sure what this would go well with. Had it with falafel & grape leaves on day 1, with mango chicken indian curry on day 2. I think it went better on day 2, but the wine's dryness did not match the food. Not sure what this wine's niche is.

Palm Bay Imports (Little Italy-Anchorage): Liked better than the Capitel Croce. Again, nice ripe peaches and apricots with a decent amount of richness. The acidity is soft and the body is medium. Different in style, this time in the style that I like due to some better balanced acidity along with with bright fruit and richness. I do believe that this is aged sur lie, or at least it drinks like it.

Palm Bays Tasting: Almonds and fruit on the nose. The palate made me think of sweet mandarin oranges. Nice structure and mouthfeel, and the acidity, while zinging, is low enough to enjoy this without food. Very nice bottle. 88-89

OK - I get the oranges, but I don't feel the smoothness. Nice taste underneath a somewhat harsh structure.

Strangely similar to San Vincenzo 2005, but with more body and a more refined body.
