What a power, freshness by acidity, some raisins but not overwhelming, spicy, complex and a long, long finish. At this great 52-53-54 tasting the first (Aloxe Corton 53) and the last (this white port) were the winners of the evening for me. But all wines were impressive, surviving 70 years without a problem. Tasting 52-53-54 at house of friend Frans, meal prepared by Eugenie.

Wow! Golden brown, with a bouquet of nuts, nectarines, apricot, caramel, autumn leaves... The flavor is full of rich tobacco with saturated citrus fruit, divinely balanced, and a round texture. Complex but inviting, savory but sweet, playful but serious. Gorgeous.
Thanks, FransS!

My 5th 1952(+) tasting (At amy home, Haarlem, The Netherlands): On a parr with the MacKenzie '52 Vintage Port; bottled 2009, and as the previous tasters already mentioned, a port with a superb refreshing acidity, smooth, not too sweet, gentle wood, modest vanilla, creamy, almonds, and a very long finish. Opened the day before the tasting; loosing a bit of the impressive citrus after three/four days, but who cares; a treat.

(Dalva Porto Golden White Colheita) Medium translucent orange red color with ruby lights and pale meniscus; VA, sultana raisin, walnut skin, tangerine marmalade, baked cherries and apricots nose; tangy, tasty, rich but layered and complex, mellow but still fruity, apricot orange peel, tangerine and orange marmalade palate with roundness, depth and good acidity, but also a little spirity; long finish 97+ pts.
(Dalva Golden White Colheita Port) From C. da Silva, with a 2008 bottling date. I never tire of this Port, which was showing beautifully after a tasting of breathtaking white and red Burgundies with a serious group of wine lovers in Colorado. Dark amber-orange in color, it has a nose that is worth the price of admission in itself, with genteel aromas of toasty coconut and praline and some influence of overripe pineapple and bright mandarin orange. This is an impressive, half-century-old Port with great intensity on the palate and enough acidity to keep the sweet, nutty, citrusy flavors in check. A sublime and sensuous mouthfeel leads to a complex and lingering finish. An absolutely stunning impression is left on the salivary glands, reminiscent of a stellar bottle of Madeira.
