Somewhat pale light yellow color which belies its flavor intensity and depth. On the nose this is full of honeysuckle and strong tart (green) apple, some under-ripe pear and some noticeable alcohol. On the palate it is smooth though bright with acidity, sweet but lightly so, and very apple driven, along with pear, honey, caramel and some alcohol (14% ABV, pretty high for a dessert wine). What struck me is that this tasted a bit like a cross between a great Sauterne and fine Calvados... This was delicious with an apple bread pudding which really was a near perfect match.

Stony Hill Vineyard Tasting (Stony Hill Vineyard St Helena, CA): A dessert wine that is unique and it is a dark gold color. The nose was nutty and provided flavors of dried apricot and fig. The taste was a luscious offering of fig, cashews, and caramel apples. This would be great with soft stinky cheeses. Score 95
