  Initially the nose shows some notes of butterscotch and spring flowers. Shows a fairly full and deep mid palette but in the end this wine just doesn’t work. It’s not flawed or “offensive”, but just not what I hoped or expected. Too bad.

  Smelled and tasted solely of struck match. Refused to blow off.
  
  Left it alone in decanter four hours, and it has cleared up, and is quite nice, with a very dry, minerally finish.
  
  Needs a lot of air to freshen up and come alive.

  I can only fully agree with the preceding contributor’s excellent notes. Great value for such an impressive Margaret River Chardonnay. The Xanadu wines further up the food chain are even my re stunning. I have not been to the winery since 1992 so our October/November visit will be something to look forward to.
