Plush and rich with just a hint of dusty tannins in the mouth. Lots of dark fruit going from black berry to black cherry. Perfumed with vanilla and baking spices. A lovely California merlot and one of the best that I’ve had recently. 93 pts

First winery on our third day in Napa Valley is Paradigm Winery in Oakville with our amazing host, Mary Ann. Next up was their Merlot, made up of 98% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon from their estate vineyard in Oakville. 14.4% Alc/Vol.
Deep and dark ruby red with some garnet hues. Dark nose with plums, spices, anise and dark berries. Medium plus tannins (7/10) and medium plus to full bodied. Dry palate with black currants, provenance herbs, volcanic gravel and lots of spices. Long finish. Drink till 2027.

Medium body merlot, somewhat tight, didn't open up much in 3-4 hrs. Might improve with time

Rich and still vibrant. Medium to dark red fruit, softened tannins, light licorice note with some floral notes. 20-25 second finish
