The wine precisely replicates its sister bottle from January when I noted: “The color on this is lovely: deep in color like intense evening sunlight. The nose is all Golden Delicious apple, baked apple pie and the spices of such. Hazelnut slides in at almost unnoticed until suddenly it’s front and center. The attack is crazy good, then the midpalate’s citrus notes chime in. Along with the hazelnut the finish turns to buttered toast. The mouthfeel is creamy and full.” 13.7% alc. With grilled chicken and okra fritters. 07.28.22. Recommended.

Tasted next to the 2014 and really quite similar with only a slightly more expressive nose. Still on the discrete, austere side of Chardonnay. Perhaps lacking in aromatic interest as the acidity is allowed to dominate.

Aging slower than I anticipated. Still has plenty of time ahead of it but ready to go right now.
