  • “Merlot from a Bordeaux-perspective”-Tasting in June 2014, Flight 6, Wine 1 (blind). Another pirate. The wine was medium to dark garnet in colour and offered blackberry, plum, almond paste, marzipan, chocolate, leather and spicy notes on the meaty and very sweet nose. On the ripe and sweet palate the wine showed mixed dark fruits, marzipan, chocolate and spicy notes, paired with medium-level acidity, medium-level round and smooth tannin and very good length. The medium-bodied wine was very round and silky-smooth and drank extremely well. A truly great wine that outclassed many of the prestigious Bordeaux!

  • Wonderful dark color, deep nose of berries and coconut and vanilla, wet rocks and earth. I smell the wet soils of Burgenland in the glass. Smooth, long finish, well balanced and good acidity. Evolving nicely for its age; just beginning to develop secondary characteristics. I would think this wine will last a few more years, but it is ready for full enjoyment now.

  • Occasional tasting group: Top Austria (@ JdZ): Dark red purple. Complex bouquet with a little barnyard, brushwood, coffee, dark plums and chocolate. Dark chocolate, bitter, sweetness lead pencil and soft sticky tannin in the taste. Long aftertaste with blackberries. Concentrated complex wine.
