  Clear light gold, intense mousse. Very expressive nose, toast, spent yeast, pear compote and lemon. Rich yeasty apple and pear flavours and a very dry refreshing finish.

  Really excellent profile. Classic BdB style and great energy. Fresh, mild meyer lemon. Touch of confectioner's sugar on the finish. This has been consistently good. Great on its own but also quite a treat alongside some Moonrise oysters. Delicious bottle and a very nice value. Will be on the prowl for the Gastronome cuvee in the future.

This felt like a distinct step down - still a decent bottle of champers, but it felt disjointed somewhat - who knows maybe it will take 5 more years in the bottle to meld together better. But one thing I noted was the bitterness which stuck out like a sore thumb.
