Jerry is leaving us (Primitivo NYC): Really pretty and effusive nose immediately jumps from the glass with great freshness and classic notes of barnyard, leather, and spice notes. In the mouth this is rich and soft with superb succulent fruit, bowl of red cherry and raspberry, the flavors are simple and remain true to fruit but the wine is refreshing and delicious with good follow through to the medium long finish that echoes with spiced berry notes. All one could want from a Chianti Classico.

Really the same as... "5/29/2006: Color just starting to mature. Very ripe red fruits, a little bit of leather starting, beautiful balance. Manages to be plush and still be an elegant chianti. Drink now or hold, but can the future be any better than now?" Why haven't I bought any since '97 vintage?

Very very good. Lovely maturing nose. Plenty of secondary flavors, not much leather yet, but drinks too well now to gamble on much more evolution. Excellent match with Marcella Hazan's "Seasoned Sliced Beefsteak."

Had with lasagna and it held up well. Nice mature wine with smooth fruit on the finish.
