I was a bit harsh in scoring this previously. Descriptors as before. Mulberries, currants, bay leaf, savoury elements, dusty tannin. To which I’d add, pleasing pucker of tannin and ample length. First Friday night for many weeks where the temp has been less than 30 degrees, and I’ve been looking forward to a glass of red.

Mulberries, currants, bay leaf, savoury elements, dusty tannin. My 1000th tasting note on cellartracker and indeed of all time... many are more descriptive than this one, some less, but I hope a few have been informative and enjoyable for others in the cellartracker community. I cracked this bottle open knowing about the 1000 note milestone, as it seemed a nice symmetry, given that my first note all the way back in 2010 was also a humble Brookland Valley Verse 1, albeit a Rose.

This is a very pleasant medium weight Bx blend which is excellent value for money.
The palate is quite fruity of bright cherry, raspberry, plum and with some vanilla oak and good palate cleansing acidity to make it a very solid drink with red meats.
It should hold for a few years but its not a cellaring keeper.
