Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 91 points

  • 54% Merlot first, then 35% Cabernet, 7% Cab Franc, 4% Petit Verdot.
Soft nose, pretty, fresh earth, dark fruit, nicely showy. Palate is elegant but complex, drinking well, up front fruit, friendly structure. Nice QPR.

  • Good purity of the sense of place, smoked spices and graphite, oregano, ripe black fruit and plums with hints of violets on the nose. Elegant and harmonious. Palate has a touch of rustic charm, very much focusing on savoury herbs and earthy notes than upfront ripe fruits. The velvety tannins are there to provide the structure for aging but the medium-bodied palate is not harsh or thin at all after sometime in the glass. Transition to finish is smooth and persistent. Good potential to age, leave this for 3-5 more years so that the tannins could be fully integrated into the structure. This is a wine that will last for at least 15 years. 91-93 pts.

Retasted in May 2022, the nose has grown darker with dense black berries, cocoa and black soya sauce while still retaining tobacco, spices and herbs on the palate. Rounded structure. Tannins are still prominent for now. Recommend to let it age for another 3 years before opening a bottle. No change in score. For the price you pay, this is very good value for money.
